Oklahoma and West Virginia both came out hot, ending the first quarter tied at 14. The Sooners would return a fumble for a touchdown right before the half to take a 35-28 lead into the locker room. The Sooners had an opportunity to really put their foot on the Mountaineers throat, but an interception thrown by Kyler Murray in the back of the endzone would lead to West Virginia tying the game.
