The up-and-coming 23-year-old shooting guard had a strained ankle tendon and was questionable before Friday's game against his old team.
Hart played through the injury during Thursday's 109-105 win over Cleveland Cavaliers after briefly having to leave the court.
But his performance clearly suffered, as he picked up just four points and four rebounds.
Originally the number 30 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Jazz, Hart was traded to the Lakers along with number 42 pick Thomas Bryant in exchange for number 28 pick Tony Bradley.
